Organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership with over 40 UN Sister Agencies and co-convened with the Government of Switzerland, the Summit is a key platform to explore the ways in which AI can drive progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
In the face of the profound challenges and transformative potential posed by artificial intelligence, it is essential not only to foster collective reflection and understanding, but also to enable the emergence of new visions, constructive solutions, and concrete proposals for desirable, sustainable, inclusive, and plural futures. Drawing on its strong foundation in the social sciences, the Institute is uniquely positioned to critically engage with the societal and geopolitical implications of AI, and to actively contribute to shaping its development and governance.
